Those who love football and others who do not It is a collective work in which 26 women and a man. In the various presentations of the book a collective, fruitful reflection has been made.Which would give rise to another book on the subject that belies that if you do not like football, it is. You hate it, or that feminism is fought with predominantly male sports, or that women do not know about sports. The testimonies of those who wrote are emotional, endearing, reconciling with life and with Football, and the relationship with men. In my case, invited by Dr. Elvira Hernández Carballido, writes a feminist reflection on football and how the media justify and reproduce exclusion of women in that sport. In this exhibition also invited by this academica Journalist, I return that text with other ideas that can reach this field of play, at vespers From the world of women's football.

Kathrine Switzer

Kathrine Switzer was the first woman to race with a dorsal in the marathon of Boston of 1967, registering like KV Switzer. She ran the race with the dorsal #261 and she crossed the finish line after 4 hours and 20 minutes. The race was destined exclusively to the male athletes so in the course of the race, one of the commissaries, Jock Semple, who was the co-director of the race, detecting that Kathrine Switzer was indeed a woman, tried to stop her, came out behind her and shouted at her: "Get out of my race and give me back my dorsal!". But the collaboration of her boyfriend and some runners, who escorted him to the finish, prevented the athlete from being withdrawn from the competition. Bobbi Gibb - who also ran the marathon that year (but without a dorsal), and who ended up ahead of Switzer - said he was sure that Semple had not only seen her that year, but also the year before, when she was the first woman to finish  the marathon of Bostón ahead of more than 290 of...

Women In Sport

The women have in sport one of the sector where they are most vetoed because for a women to be able to dedicate herself professionally to the sport, would need a lots and good financiations that today are practically imposible. Currently, that situation is changing progresivelly although to a success achieved by a female team isn’t given as much importance as a men’s one.
