Spanish Basketball League
The Women's League is the top women's basketball competition in Spain. It has been disputed annually since 1964.
It currently consists of 14 teams. A round robin format is played, classifying the first 4 for the playoffs of the semifinals and final to the best of 3 matches each. The last 2 classified descends to Liga Femenina 2.
The first classified contests the Euroleague Women, playing other teams the FIBA Women's Eurocup. Although in recent years several teams have given up participating in European competitions.1
Also the first three teams classified at the end of the first round of the competition dispute the Cup of Queen of basketball together with the equipment designated like host.
