Carolina Marín: badminton player.

She is a Spanish player of badminton that competes in the individual female category, current number one of the ranking of the BWF (badminton world federation). Carolina started playing badminton at the Badminton club La Orden in her hometown, Huelva.

She has been Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro 2016, twice world champion, in 2014 and 2015, and twice European champion, in 2014 and 2016.

In 2014 she was awarded the National Sports Award to the best Spanish athlete of the year.
In 2016 the Sports Palace of Huelva was renamed as "Carolina Marin Sports Palace" in his honor.
In 2009 she became the first Spanish badminton player to win a silver medal, first in the Junior Badminton European Championships, and gold medal later in the European Under-17 Badminton Championships.
In 2011 he won the gold medal at the European Youth Championship held in Finland.
In 2012 participated in the Olympic Games of London, being eliminated in the group phase.
In 2016 she became champion in the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro, becoming the first non-Asian player to be Olympic champion.
